Description: Through a combination of lecture and discussion, the Rebirth of the Nation course will focus on the rise of white supremacy then and now. As a group, we will examine the historical evolution of racist myths that war against African American communities. In search of solutions, we will turn to the wisdom of the African American Activist tradition in their fight against slavery and segregation. To inform our efforts to save our nation’s soul, each session will be spent hearing from voices like Frederick Douglas, Ida B. Wells, W.E.B. Dubois, and Queen Mother Moore.
