About Joel
Joel Edward Goza is a Non-Resident Fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and the Co-Founder of The G&G Collective, an arts, clothing, and merchandise cooperative.
Joel is the author of two books: America’s Unholy Ghosts: The Racist Roots of Our Faith and Politics and Rebirth of a Nation: Reparations and Remaking America. His current project is tentatively entitled from Dust to Dust: Meditations on Striving, and Surviving. Joel publishes in numerous national outlets including LA Times, The Hill, Religion News Service, The Los Angeles Review of Books and Salon. Before focusing on writing, Joel worked in urban redevelopment and community activism for over a decade.
Joel is a graduate of Wheaton College and received his Master’s of Divinity from Duke University and a Masters in Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Policy at the University of Texas.
When not working, Joel spends his time pestering his family.
